What to know before you choose

  • Rustic or modern. Most of the Memphis desks are described as distressed wood and hot-rolled steel in a rustic-industrial style. The White Memphis with Glass Riser and Cedar Slats adds a glass riser, which its page calls a modern, polished front profile.
  • Natural wood varies. The Memphis and White Washed Memphis pages say the grain varies from desk to desk, so no two are identical. The Memphis Desk Eco uses reclaimed wood from demolition sites, and its body is black melamine and high-pressure laminate.
  • Dark wood. The Venice Reception Desk is torched wood and the Santa Cruz Sales Counter is stained and torched pine with a black laminate top. The pages do not name a color, so check the photos.
  • Custom wood reception desk. The Santa Cruz page says it can be tailored to your space, and the Dallas Reception Desk Sales Counter page says customizable options are available. The pages do not list what can be changed, so ask us first.
