These are very thick metal. They have a nice weight to them. You need to season them, but once seasoned, they work great on our propane grill. Want to try them next on our Weber Kettle. If they perform as well with the extra flavor of the charcoal, these will be used often for chicken, pork, burgers, steaks and anything that fits in it. We also expect these will hold up well given the thickness and weight. If you enjoy barbecuing, but do not like the mess when you grill smaller items like burgers, these are a must.

I used these pucks to make smash burgers. i found the pucks needed some help getting to smash burger searing temperature. I put them in the oven at 355 for 20 minutes and then out to the kettle and the problem was solved. I got excellent sear and the pucks are flat so excess juices running off and do not stew the burgers the way a cast iron pan will. the burgers I cooked had an excellent cast iron sear and the charcoal kettle flavor absolutely remarkable. i cannot see myself preparing burgers without them but I can see myself buying an extra set of theses. I recomend giving these a try.
