Fire Magic Aurora vs Echelon vs Legacy: Built-In Gas Grills Compared (2026)
Short answer: Echelon Diamond is Fire Magic's top-of-the-line series, Aurora shares many Echelon features, and Legacy is Fire Magic's most affordable line. The Aurora A660i and Echelon Diamond E660i have the same 660 sq. in. cooking surface and 75,000 BTU main burners. The E660i adds an included charcoal/smoker basket and a digital thermometer option, and lists an 11,000 BTU Quantum backburner. The Legacy Deluxe is a smaller two-burner grill with a much shallower cutout.

How Aurora, Echelon Diamond and Legacy differ
The A660i and E660i pages both list Diamond Sear cooking grids, cast stainless steel burners, heat zone separators, back-lit knobs, interior halogen lights and hot surface ignition. Where the series split is controls and extras. Both Echelon Diamond models list Quantum backburners and an included charcoal/smoker basket, and can be ordered with an analog or a digital thermometer. The E660i page also describes a contoured face with knobs whose flame turns red when on, and a double-wall rounded oven hood. Both Aurora models list an analog thermometer.
The Legacy Deluxe is a different design: a countertop built-in with a satin stainless steel facade, two burners and simple electronic ignition. Its cutout is 16.5 inches deep, compared with 23.5 inches for the Aurora and Echelon Diamond models above.
Aurora A660i: 30-inch, three burners
The Aurora A660i is the 30-inch, three-burner Aurora.

The Aurora A790i is the larger Aurora, with a 36" x 22" cooking area (792 sq. in.) and a 36" x 8" warming rack. Its main burners total 90,000 BTU, and it needs a 37-inch-wide cutout. It has Diamond Sear grids, interior halogen lights, back-lit knobs, an analog thermometer and 120 VAC/12 volt hot surface ignition. The page does not list the number of burners.

Echelon Diamond E660i: A660i size, more included

It comes with two Quantum backburners (22,000 BTU) and a rotisserie kit, and the page lists an infrared burner on the left side.
