Night and Day Spices Bunk Beds: Peppermint vs Cinnamon vs Ginger (2026)
Short answer: choose a Peppermint if you want a staircase bunk bed with drawers in every step. It comes as a Twin/Twin or a Twin/Full, and the stairs can be assembled on either side. Choose a Cinnamon for a twin over twin with arches and curved details or a twin over a full-size futon that works as a sofa by day. Choose a Ginger for bigger beds: a Twin/Full or a true Full/Full.

What all six Spices bunk beds share
Every Spices bunk bed is a Night and Day Furniture design with hardwood construction and multiple finishes. Five of the six pages list plantation-grown rubberwood solids and/or rubberwood veneers; the Peppermint Twin/Twin page lists hardwood construction without naming the wood.
- Finishes: Cherry, Chocolate, Natural, Stonewash and White. The Ginger Twin/Full is the exception, listed on our site in Cherry, Chocolate, Natural and White only.
- Slats: each page lists 11 slats with 2 3/4 between slats.
- Add-ons: trundles and drawers are optional. Every model has a "No Add Ons" choice, so they are not included unless you select them.
Peppermint: the staircase bunk bed with drawers
The Peppermint is the Spices bunk to pick if storage matters most. It has stairs and railings, with a drawer in every step, and there are extra shelves at the back. The stairs are switchable, so you can assemble them at either end to fit your room.
- Twin/Twin: 66 inches high, 98 inches wide and 42 inches deep. Optional color-matching twin trundle or twin drawers.
- Twin/Full: 66 inches high, 98 inches wide and 58 inches deep. Optional color-matching full trundle or full drawers.
At 66 inches, the Peppermint is the lowest of the Spices bunks. At 98 inches, it is also the widest, compared with 80 to 83 inches for the Cinnamon and Ginger, so measure your wall before you choose it.
Cinnamon: arched twin over twin, or twin over futon
The Cinnamon Twin/Twin is the decorative choice, with arches, curves and corbels on the leg posts. It is 68 inches high, 80 inches wide and 42 inches deep, with an optional color-matching twin trundle or twin drawers.
The Cinnamon Twin/Futon puts a twin bed on top and a full-size futon below. Convert the futon for a sleepover, or leave it up as a sofa for reading and play. It has the same listed size as the Cinnamon Twin/Twin (68 x 80 x 42 inches), weighs 264 lbs, and has optional drawers. The product page does not say whether a futon mattress is included.
Ginger: twin over full or full over full
The Ginger is the Spices bunk for more sleeping space. The Ginger Twin/Full has a twin top bunk and a full lower bunk, measures 68 inches high, 83 inches wide and 59 inches deep, and weighs 270 lbs. It comes in four finishes on our site; Stonewash is not currently listed for this size.
The Ginger Full/Full is full size top and bottom. At 70 inches high, it is the tallest bunk in the range, and it weighs 285 lbs. On both Ginger pages, the optional add-ons are listed as a color-matching twin trundle or twin drawers.
Stairs vs ladder
Only the Peppermint pages describe stairs. The stairs add storage, with drawers in the steps and shelves at the back, and they can go on either end. The trade-off is width: 98 inches against 80 to 83 inches for the other models. The Cinnamon and Ginger pages do not describe how you reach the top bunk, so check the product photos or ask us.
